What I Learned Today, 2/1/13

Today in class we learned about John Locke.  He was a well-known English philosopher and he lived from 1632 to 1704.  He came up with the State Of Nature which was a condition in which no governments or laws existed at all.  We talked about what might life be like in a state of nature.  Locke said that the rights to life, liberty, and property are natural rights.  We also talked about that the best way to solve this problem is for each individual to agree with others to create and live under a government and give that government the power to make and enforce laws.  Locke called this kind of government a social contract.  Locke said that the main propose of government is to protect those natural right that the individual can not             effectively protect in a state of nature.  We learned about John Locke and his establishments!!!
