Today students studied Chicago in the years after the Great Fire. Chicago’s population grew rapidly at this time, doubling 10 years after the fire, and again doubling at the turn of the century. How did this happen? Chicago was a hotbed of industry, immigration, and controversy during this time. Using the sheet below, students explored each of the topics, then organized their thoughts below.
